Pakistan has expressed grave concern over the reports of the ballistic missile attack on Saudi Arabia.
“It (Pakistan) strongly condemns the attack and commends the timely action by Saudi forces to destroy the missile preventing any loss of lives,” according to Pakistan Foreign Office statement.
Pakistan has reiterated its full support and solidarity with the Government and brotherly people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it added..
“ It voices its condemnation of any threats aimed at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It demands the anti-Government forces in Yemen to desist from attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the statement concluded.
Saudi Arabia had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired from war-torn Yemen on Thursday. This was the second attack during a month time claimed by Iran-backed Houthi rebels Saudi, state media reported.
The missile targeted the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, with authorities reporting no casualties, just hours after the rebels threatened to retaliate over a crippling blockade on Yemen.
A Saudi-led coalition fighting the rebels imposed the blockade in response to a Huthi missile that was intercepted near Riyadh airport on November 4.
