Pakistan, Iran agree to enhance energy cooperation

Pakistan and Iran on Monday reached an agreement to enhance cooperation in the field of energy during a one-on-one meeting of Minister for Energy Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Mehrabian in Tehran , Radio Pakistan reported.
The meeting was aimed at increasing avenues of cooperation in energy field between both the neighbours.
Khurram Dastgir lauded the energy cooperation between Pakistan and Iran and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthen the relations.
Both the sides also discussed the plan of exporting electricity from Iran to Pakistan’s Balochistan, which the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan has previously stated that Iran’s ready to do so.
Khurram Dastagir’s visit follows that of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to Iran last week.
Bilawal held talks with Iranian officials, including his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and the Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi.
