Pakistan is likely to receive widespread rains from Saturday to Monday as meteorologists say that strong monsoon currents have started penetrating eastern parts of country .
Rainspell , with very heavy falls at some places, is likely to grip Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Hazara, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad divisions and Kashmir during the period.
Moderate to heavy falls are expected at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa , FATA, D.G.Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Sibbi, Zhob, Naseerabad divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan during next three days.
Traditionally, Pakistan and neighbouring India receive most of the rains during Sawan, the fifth month of Bikrami Calendar ( mid-July to mid-August) while frequency of rain spells decrease during Bhadon (mid-August to mid-September).
According to seasonal prediction issued by Pakistan Meteorological Department, Monsoon rains will be normal during the month of July while these may remain below normal in August and September this year.
