First assessment of Pakistan’s cotton crop on August 10

The first meeting of Cotton Crop Assessment Committee (CCAC) will be in Islamabad on August 10 to assess the size of current cotton crop in Pakistan.

The committee will also assess the per acre crop yield and average plant population and crop outlook, said Cotton Commissioner Dr Khalid Abdullah.
The meeting will also discuss the challenges and issues being faced by the cotton growers at post harvest stage and suggest the remedial measures.
All stakeholders including Ministry of Textile Industry, representatives of provincial governments, Plant Protection Department, Trading Cooperation of Pakistan (TCP) and cotton growers have been invited to the assessment meeting
“Cotton crop for the season 2017-18 is doing well in Sindh and Punjab,” says Cotton commissioner.
