Pakistan’s port city, Karachi has been ranked cheapest among country’s top five big cities, according to a report of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Lahore emerged as the most expensive city in terms of cost of living.
According to the report, Karachi’s year-on-year consumer price index inflation (CPI) was recorded at 1.7 percent in August as compared to previous year’s 3.3 percent.
The CPI remained at 5.1 percent in Lahore.
“Among the five cities, the lowest inflation was observed in Karachi while the highest inflation was observed in Lahore,” the SBP said.
Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta were ranked second, third and fourth most expensive cities in terms of cost of living.
