Azerbaijan’s government has announced an exemption of customs duty on rice imports from Pakistan till December 31, 2027.
According to a tweet from Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, “The rice import from Pakistan to Azerbaijan is exempted from customs duty until December 31, 2027”.
He said this tax exemption announcement would significantly increase trade turnover and enhance our brotherly ties.
“This is a good effort by Ministry of Commerce to open new avenue,” says Rafique Suleman, former Chairman Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP).
He said that the rice exports from Pakistan would probably witness a boost of US $ 100 million annually with the expansion in central Asian country’s market.
Pakistan exported rice worth US $ 2.5 billion during the fiscal year 2021-22.
