Ajay Bisaria arrives in Pakistan to assume charge of Indian HC

Indian High Commissioner-designate to Pakistan, Ajay Bisaria  has arrived in Pakistan through the Wagah International Crossing to assume his responsibilities in Islamabad.

He is replacing Gautam Bambawale who has returned New Delhi after the completion of his tenure in Pakistan.

Bisaria, in a brief interaction with Indian media before entering Pakistan, said that he was going to Pakistan with the hope to further cement the relations.

“At this historic border, I am going to Pakistan with the hope that the future of our relations should be different from that of past,” he said, adding that he would strive for strengthening the relations between the two nations and make an atmosphere of confidence.

Bisaria, a senior Indian diplomat, is the 25th high commissioner to Pakistan . He was earlier serving as Indian ambassador in East European country, Poland. His predecessor Gautam Bambawale has been appointed as Ambassador to China.
