India releases Pakistani Prisoners

Eleven Pakistani prisoners, including a young girl, have been released by India on the completion of their sentence. They were handed over by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to Pakistan Borders at Wagha Joint Check Post, some 30 kilometres from Lahore.
However, two Pakistani sisters and a daughter of one of them, are still languishing in the Indian jail despite completion of their sentence and await nod from Indian Prime Minister’s office (PMO) for clearance of their files.
Those released by India include Rubina who went to New Delhi in 2010 for treatment but was arrested by the Indian authorities alongwith her daughter Jannatun Nisa. She returned Pakistan after serving a term of 7 years in the Indian jail.
Another prisoner Mohammad Shahbaz , a resident of Narowal district had crossed the working boundary inadvertently and reached Dera Baba Nanak in India. He had wait for years for release. He was sentenced for just one-and-a-half month in prison, but remained lodged there for more than a year.
