Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has written a letter to Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj seeking to bring an end to the ceasefire violations occurring on the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir and across the International border.
According to Indian newspaper Times of India, a letter from Khawaja Muhammad Asif was received by Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj last week. According to the report, the letter is written seeking a way to bring down the rising number of ceasefire violations that are being made by Indian troops across the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
The letter stated that both countries should work together to bring an end to the ceasefire violations that are causing large-scale casualties, especially among the civilians. In the letter, Khawaja Muhammad Asif reiterated the demand that the Indian forces should stop the violations.
The violations, which is the highest since the beginning of this decade has led to civilian casualties in Azad Kashmir. Pakistan has repeatedly summoned the Indian envoy in Islamabad for Indian ceasefire violations.
